How it Works
The Consultation
At RL Center for Cosmetic Surgery & Medspa, each initial patient consultation is different.
Depending on your needs, desired treatments, areas of concern, and simply who you are as a patient, we will schedule you with an actual treatment provider to discuss your goals, budget, and more. During this appointment, we will go through before & after photos, your medical history, and any questions you might have. Only then can we make a recommendation for which procedures or treatments may be right for you and why. We will be sure to educate you on how the treatments work, including what to expect during and afterward.
A cosmetic surgery consultation with Dr. Lu costs $100. At the end of your consultation, you will leave our office in Vernon Hills with a thorough, personalized treatment plan. And when you’re ready, we’ll schedule your surgery for a day and time that works for your schedule.
During your initial consultation, the doctors will properly evaluate you in determining if you an ideal candidate for this procedure.
During your pre-op appointment, your surgeon will also provide a list of medications and items you will need for your surgery.
It is important for patients to follow all instructions provided by the doctor in order to have a successful surgery without complications.
The Procedure
A Brazilian butt lift is a specialized fat transfer procedure that augments the size and shape of the buttocks without implants. The fat that is collected by liposuction is carefully prepared by washing and filtering the fat so that only high-quality fat is grafted into the buttocks.
Excess fat is removed from the hips, abdomen, lower back, or thighs with liposuction, and a portion of this fat is then strategically injected into the buttocks.
Dr. Leonard Lu can improve the proportions of the entire lower body with Brazilian butt lift surgery, helping a patient lose fat in common “problem areas” and enhance the buttocks, with results lasting many years.
The Recovery
It’s important to have someone who can drive you home and take care of you for the first 24 hours following your BBL procedure.
Your surgeon will send you home with both instructions for your recovery and supplies that will help you heal correctly.
Variable amount so bruising and swelling are expected and normal after a BBL surgery. Wearing all compression garments given is absolutely necessary. These garments help lower the risk of fluid buildup and reduce swelling. They must be worn 24 hours a day every day until the doctor advises.
Sitting down must be avoided for at least three to four weeks after the procedure. Pressure on the buttocks when sitting can cause the fat to resorb and less fat may “take” in this scenario. Therefore, it is important to treat this area with extra care. If sitting is necessary, patients should only sit on an extremely soft and cushioned pillow.
It is essential to go to all follow up appointments to make sure the healing process is smooth and there is no fluid buildup.
