Yes. Depending upon what the procedure, it might make sense to sleep in a reclining (not horizontal) position for one week following surgery to minimize the collection of fluids in the face and eyelids. Post-care instructions will be sent home with each patient for a non-surgical or surgical procedure.
With facial fillers, it is suggested to discontinue aspirin, ibuprofen, vitamin E and fish oil supplements one week prior to treatment to help minimize bruising. Follow the instructions you will be given about making and administering your cold and warm compresses. These will not only reduce bruising and swelling, but they will also maximize and promote healing.
RL Center also offers the Pulsed Dye Laser. The PDL may expedite the healing and lessen the red/purple bruise that may occur post injectable treatment.

This answer may be different for each individual. Typically, a good skin care regimen is the first step. DiamondGlow facials, microneedling, laser treatments, and injectables all play a unique role in reversing facial aging. The medical professionals at RL Center for Cosmetic Surgery & Medspa will customize an individual plan for each patient based on your needs.
A Liquid facelift is a customizable treatment and include a combination of Botox/Fillers. As we age, we lose volume in the way of bone, collagen and fat. Facial fillers help restore natural volume that has been lost over time.
As with all surgical procedures, some level of risk is possible. Our medical staff is highly trained and has many hours of surgical experience. We will do everything possible to minimize complications during your surgery.
Additionally, it’s essential to follow all your pre- and post-operative instructions exactly, and thoroughly discuss any and all medical conditions with us before your procedure. This is the best way to ensure a smooth surgery and recovery process.
Plastic Surgery can provide positive lasting effects for many years, but it is important to maintain your results with a healthy lifestyle. For example, your breasts will look better than before your breast augmentation or reduction, but they will change with hormonal changes, changes in weight, or pregnancy. On the other hand, after liposuction or a tummy tuck, subtle weight changes of 5 to 10 lbs are common and do not have substantial effects on your shape.
Injectables do not last as long as surgery. Depending upon the injectable, Botox lasts 3-4 months and facial fillers can last up to 24 months.
Cosmetic surgery is performed to reshape normal structures in order to improve the patient’s appearance and self-esteem. Reconstructive procedures are performed on abnormal structures on the body caused by birth defect, cancer, trauma, infection, or disease. Reconstructive surgery is generally covered by most insurance policies. However, cosmetic surgery is not covered by insurance companies as it is performed by patient’s choice and is not medically necessary. It is important to understand your insurance policy prior to scheduling a consultation.
Many cosmetic treatments are not suited for patients taking blood thinning medications, patients who use tobacco products, patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding. Some cosmetic treatments require the avoidance of sun exposure for at least two weeks prior to the procedure. These contraindications will be discussed with you at your consultation.
