Experts on cosmetic surgery believe that fat removal, facial surgery and anti-aging will remain at the top of the heap of plastic surgery procedures. However, recent advances and newly approved FDA procedures promise less invasive techniques with more natural results. Here’s a list of some exciting new trends in plastic surgery for 2014.
- Designer fillers, like Juvederm Voluma, havereceived FDA approval and are increasingly used in chins, cheeks, and lips. Facial areas will benefit the most from these improved fillers, though many are having fillers injected into their hands as well.
- BOTOX injections will not be as strong as they used to be in many areas. The desired result will be a more natural look. Micro-injections will allow more muscle movement in the forehead, and many injectors have already pushed for this trend to eliminate the scary, frozen look so often seen in Hollywood.
- Arms and abs will be sculpted with new, non-surgical liposuction alternatives. Surgical liposuction, however, is still an option and required for best results in some cases.
- Removing tattoos is simpler and take less time thanks to new, innovative laser technology. Picosure, for example, uses high energy and power to rapidly break down pigment into tiny particles.
- New tear-shaped artificial breasts have started replacing the current globe-shaped inserts. The trend seems to be favoring a breast implant that doesn’t look like a breast implant.
- Anti-aging treatments for the hands and chest will become more popular. Skin tightening, volumnizing and spot removal and will help turn back the clock on these tell-tale areas.
These new approaches are leaning toward a kinder, gentler and more natural look while achieving the enhancements, reductions and anti-aging look so many long for.
