Have Your Best Year Yet in 2018 With These Procedures

When we look great, we feel great—that’s why having cosmetic procedures can be the best way start a new year on the right foot. But with all of the options we have to choose from where skincare and anti-aging are concerned, it can be hard to know which treatments offer the best overall value. That’s why we’ve put together the following list of our favorite rejuvenation techniques; if you’re interested in overhauling your look, these four procedures are the perfect place to start.

The 4 Top Cosmetic Procedures for the New Year

  1. Cellfina.

Cellulite: Approximately 90% of us have it, but none of us like it. Fortunately, over the last decade, an extremely effective (and minimally invasive) cellulite treatment system known as Cellfina has been developed. During Cellfina, very thin needles (too thin to cause significant pain) are inserted below the dermis via a special applicator. A cosmetic surgeon uses these needles to separate and “release” the fibrous septae below the skin. Once these connective tissues are divided, they no longer have the ability to create puckers in the skin… And as a result, all of the patient’s unsightly pits and dimples dissapear.

Cellfina boasts a 96% satisfaction rate (based on reports gathered from patients two years after they had this procedure) and it’s ideal for treating moderate to severe cellulite. However, in cases of especially severe cellulite, Cellfina may not create a 100% reduction in visible symptoms. Patients can, however, have multiple Cellfina appointments and/or pair Cellfina with other complementary skin-firming procedures to enhance their results.

  1. CoolSculpting.

Once upon a time, the idea of being able to remove stubborn fat deposits without surgery would have sounded like a fantasy. Thankfully, technology has come a long way since those days, and today we can opt for noninvasive fat removal treatments like CoolSculpting. They’re convenient (as they require no healing time), usually relatively painless, and fairly affordable. What’s more, they work: CoolSculpting has been proven to remove 24% of the fat cells from treated areas.

During CoolSculpting, a special applicator is applied to the patient’s skin. While keeping the skin comfortably warm, it administers deep cold to the subcutaneous fat cells found below the dermis. This damages the fat cells enough that the body cannot repair them; instead, it gradually excretes them via the liver and lymphatic system. (This is a completely normal, natural process and you will not feel it happening.) As a result, the patient will notice areas where they had CoolSculpting applied getting progressively trimmer over the two months after they complete their treatment sessions.

Keep in mind, however, that no fat removal treatment (surgical or nonsurgical) is able to act as a total weight loss solution. You will need to use diet and exercise to get within 25-30 pounds of your goal weight before using cosmetic fat removal procedures. CoolSculpting and other fat removal treatments are ideal for patients who are a healthy weight, but who need “spot fat reduction” on their abdomen, back, flanks, arms, etc.

  1. Botox.

Botox is a cosmetic classic for a reason: It can quickly and painlessly reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines by temporarily relaxing the muscles that are responsible for creating “dynamic” wrinkles. (Dynamic wrinkles are caused directly by the creasing of the skin, whereas static wrinkles are imprinted lines in the skin that form over time due to collagen loss.) Botox is very low-risk and unlikely to cause adverse reactions, and when it’s applied by a skilled clinician, it will not affect your ability to make facial expressions. What it will do, however, is make you look about five years younger.

  1. Dermal Fillers.

For all of those nasty static wrinkles that Botox alone can’t get rid of, there are dermal fillers like Juvederm. Dermal fillers are made of viscous gel-like compounds (usually hyaluronic acid, a regenerative substance that’s naturally found in the human body) that can literally “fill in” facial lines. Dermal fillers can also be used to fill in hollows under the cheeks, correct imperfections in the nose, fill out the lips, and fill in acne scars. They are, in short, highly versatile—and very safe. If you want an effective anti-aging solution that doesn’t require going “under the knife,” then dermal fillers are probably for you.

Because the four procedures above require no “downtime” in which to heal, they provide a great way to start improving your appearance during the busy holiday season. So, what are you waiting for—why not book a consultation today?
