Breast reduction surgery lasts one to three hours and is performed under general anesthesia. It can be done on an outpatient basis, or you might spend the night in a hospital. Your surgeon will mark your breasts to show you where the incisions will be placed and how much tissue will be removed.
After the incisions are made, the excess tissue is excised, and the incisions are closed with sutures. The results are immediately apparent, but there may be minor swelling in the chest, which will dissipate within one to two weeks.
Breast reduction is a permanent, effective solution to an embarrassing problem. After the surgery, you’ll have more self-confidence and self-esteem. You’ll look and feel more like a man, and the teasing will end.
